Shyamalan to pen Indiana Jones script?

LOS ANGELES (Zap2It.com) - George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford said back in 1993 that they would like to make another Indiana Jones movie together. The problem is they haven't been able to find the right script. Now it appears that M. Night Shyamalan, the Oscar-nominated writer and director of "The Sixth Sense," has finally put the Jones idea into gear. Shyamalan is in talks with the trio to script the fourth installment of the series, with Spielberg directing. Shyamalan will start writing the script in January, according to Reuters, once he completes work on "Unbreakable," which will star Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson.

Schwarzenegger will be back as Terminator

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - Arnold Schwarzenegger has said he will be back as the Terminator. The action star has officially committed to reprise his role as the cyborg in "Terminator 3," the third installment of the blockbuster sci-fi franchise. The project is scheduled to start shooting in Los Angeles in spring 2001. It's not clear where the financing is coming from, and the producers declined to elaborate on where they are getting the money for what is expected to be a $100 million budget. No domestic studio distribution deal is in place for the film. As yet, no director is attached to the project, but Schwarzenegger has long expressed his desire to reteam with James Cameron, director of the previous "Terminator" films.

Schwarzenegger has said many times that he would not do a third installment without Cameron. It is understood that Cameron has not met with producers on the project. However, sources said that not only have there been talks between Schwarzenegger and Cameron about him helming "T3," but the "Titanic" director has read the script. Schwarzenegger has said that he and Cameron are working on a "True Lies" sequel as well, which Cameron will also produce.

Spielberg OKs 'Jurassic' DVD releases

Los Angeles (Billboard) - Steven Spielberg has greenlit the Oct. 10 DVD release and VHS re-release of his $1.5 billion blockbuster franchise "Jurassic Park" and "The Lost World: Jurassic Park."
The dynamic duo are two of the most-requested Spielberg titles for the burgeoning DVD home entertainment format and are expected to challenge Warner Home Video's "The Matrix" as the best-selling DVD title of all time. Industry sources speculated that Spielberg had been holding off the DVD release of the dinosaur titles until the optical disc format reached a critical mass of approximately 10 million households, which it's expected to surpass this year.
